Breaking Through Fitness Barriers: 5 Unconventional Ways to Reignite Your Motivation

It’s just after the New Year as I this and the fitness frenzy has taken over on social and in my friend groups! Meanwhile, I’ve found myself struggling to dive into new plans or challenges. If you're in the same low-energy boat, fear not! Here are 5 innovative approaches that got me up and moving — so I hope they help to motivate you as well. 1️. Embrace Your Starting Point:

Swapping PJs for workout gear felt daunting, but I told myself it's okay to start right where I am. Whether it's leaving the house or changing your exercise plan, meet yourself where you are and adjust/change your clothes as you go!

2️. Energize with Small Steps:

A brief walk or a 10-minute video can be the catalyst for change. Once you're in motion, transitioning into a different workout or intensifying your routine becomes much easier.

3️. Action Over Motivation:

Motivation doesn't magically appear. Prioritize action, no matter how small. Action is the spark that ignites motivation. Not the other way around!

4️. It's Not About You — It’s About Your Body:

Step outside of yourself, tell your b*tch brain to “shush”, and do it for your body. Treat your body as another person in your life with needs – movement as preventative medicine, mood lifter, energy booster, and more!

5️. Acknowledge Your Progress:

Celebrate what you ARE doing. Every bit of movement counts. Pat yourself on the back and say, 'Yes, I got myself here!!'
